I''d like to make a 3d applet in java (without using any outside APIs). I don''t know how load images in a way that i can use them to texture the polygons. how do i read pixel data from a jpeg? I am soooo bad at this.

Well,

use javax.imageio.ImageIO.read() (since 1.4), which returns a BufferedImage.

should work fine for you

However, if you want to have a 1.1 applet, as many do, you will need to use the PixelGrabber class. It''s straightforward to use. Look it up in the API docs.
