I was just beginning to wonder, how many people have the time to read the End User License Agreement (EULA) shown whenever you want to install any Microsoft product. I mean, that thing is not less than 5 pages long and it is a very dry boring story! Or should I say just some randomly generated words put together to form sentences. he he! So who has ever read the EULA to the end before?

lol I read it once because I was bored. In the Office 2000 EULA there''s a part which states something like:

Microsoft Java technology is not fault tolerant, and should not be used in environments requiring a high degree of reliability, such as Life Support Machines and Nuclear Power Plants

Warning in life.cpp (8): const Happiness is declared but never used.

Why in the world would anyone use a microsoft product to run a nuclear power plant? What about BSOD?

I read the EULA once when I was studying for win95 MCP. We were told we should read it because it might be on the test.

Sometimes I might read them. Extremely boring. I wonder how many lawyers Microsoft has to write them.

That was taken directly from the .NET Framework SDK EULA(Section 3.1). What happened there?

In brief : You must prevent your users to redistribute Microsoft''s run-time libraries, except as part of your application and only if they accept Microsoft''s EULA.

That one comes from the original Sun EULA for Java.

For those who believe in God, most of the big questions are answered. But for those of us who can''t readily accept the God formula, the big answers don''t remain stone- written. We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command or faith a dictum. I am my own God. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us -- Charles Bukowski

I think Microsoft added that part about their technology not being fault tolerant. Sun's Java license merely seems to state (and I've checked older versions too) that the licensee acknowledges that the sofware was not designed or intended for use in certain critical application areas.

Fun to see that the corporate bashing goes on in the details of the EULAs too.

The time it would take for me to read a EULA would be time lost for programming.
And I have soooooo little time for programming that it would mean that I would end up with no time for programming. Thus I don''t read EULA.

Any way I buy the products and don''t spread illegal copy, so I think it''s reasonably safe.
