I am building my own computer and the motherboard I bought has 3 ddr ram slots. When I was buying other items for the computer, I got a hard drive and sd ram deal. Since money is tight, I was wondering if SD Ram could be used in one of the DDR Ram slots temporarily, until I get enought money for DDR Ram.
Can you? Yes
Should you? Negative Ghost Rider, Negative.
Check the specs for your motherboard to see what bus speeds and types of memory it will allow. I''m gonna take a stab in the dark and say that the SD Ram has a different bus speed than what your motherboard is fixed with, which means your motherboard is going to get very confused when it attempts to initialize your memory. It''s kinda like when you''re putting a puzzle together and you force a piece to make it fit. You might get it in there, but you may not get it out, and the picture might not look very good when you get done
