So, it''s raining. And it''s almost the weekend (for me). What are everyones plans for this weekend? Anything exciting? I''m going to a punk show tonight (Eskapo and Pitch Black) and a friends birthday party (Star Trek movie) tomarrow. AghGHg! I jsut had to get up and help change a sound theme because people found it too annoying. While I was up someone was having problems logging into a computer, "Jason, I''m typing 1234 in as the password and it''s not working" "Is that your password?" "No" "Try typing in your password..." "Ok it worked." I need to go home. Jason Mickela ICQ : 873518 Excuse my speling. Vallejo Punk The V-Town Have-Nots Eskapo

Early annual family Christmas party tomorrow. Just want to get it over with. I''m not remotely comfortable around a bunch of people, even my own family. I usually just end up spending the evening trying to get away from it all.

academic challenge meet tomorrow (its kinda funny that as a B team we were better than every other A team at last tournament except for the A team from out own school). Anyone else here on a team?

Other than that I might (hopefully) go over to a friends house and watch The Wall...

whoooooooOOO! weekends!

Actually its Uncle Bob.
I guess that was a rather negative post.
I don''t usually vent like that, Oh well.

At least the dinner will be good. Cornish Hens and other stuff. There will be presents as well. Also, I always enjoy watching my little second cousins open up their presents. That in itself makes it worth it. Their well behaved and great company. We usually end up watching a movie togeather. Last time was Shrek. Great fun.

My weekend is free time. I was thinking about going skiing because two ski areas finally opened, but the snow base seems to be pretty thin and it might rain, so I might opt out. Other than that, I''ll put on studded tires.

Hey, I''m on an Academic Challenge team. Where ya from?

We suck pretty bad, but we have a lot of fun, especially when we play a team with a bunch of dweebs.

No way! You guys do that Academic Challenge stuff to? In Canada, our version is called School Reach (it's kinda like Jeapordy with teams). Basically, we have different question types (team questions, assigned questions, open questions) and a whole crapload of question catagories (popular music, old movies, computers (!!), science, math). Each question is worth 10 points (a couple exceptions), and we use these cool buzzer dealies with flashing lights. During the regular season, we play against various other teams from various other towns. The team we play the most (as they're the closest one to us) sucks total ass. Here are a smattering of scores from the 5 times we played them two years ago (School Reach was cancelled last year due to a teacher's strike):

1. 210-120
2. 300-170
3. 200-70
4. 250-200
5. 290-50

The freakin final exam is enough to make my weekend a horrible weekend.

Just finished a brutal 3 day hell of writing 4 final exams, and lost more sleep than I care to remember. Finally got about 2 hours sleep after my last exam today, until my buddy wakes me up and coerces me to go partying...Just got back (4:00am), and now it''s time for some much-needed sleep.

No more school, no more tests, no more anything for 3 weeks. Life is good.

our team dominates
were from greeley -- Im on the B team but were better than most A teams. The A team was 2nd in the country last year, the B team also went to nationals, but went 2-2...

what format do you guys play? We''re QU -- thats 1st quarter 5 and 10, 2nd quarter 5 and 10 with bonus categories, 3rd quarter 60 second categories, and 4th 15 and 20 point.

As for scores, we usually get around 400, but we''ve had a 700 game once, and a 600 game at nationals. The B team tends to pull 300-400
