Now my engine is running at 200 fps(max).
That still isn''t enough(i think).
My monitor is running at 85 hz
Are you sure that it is running at 85 during the game (forget the desktop) ?
WinXP''s default hz setting for DirectX fullscreen apps is 60 hz. You need to update XP or get a 3rd party tool to correct this.
First you claim that your max framerate is 60, now you say that is is running at 200 fps max....So which is it ????

I''m sick to death of people talking about their low framerates without listing their hardware and configuration. Depending on your hardware, and FPS could be either good or bad. And I''m really sick of people who complain that they only get 200 frames/second. Your monitor is only going to show 60 fps at best anyway. No matter how much faster your engine tells you it is running, it won''t look any better. Likewise, most people can''t tell the difference 45 fps+. So be content with what you have. Its good.

calm down. and all your points besides listing hardware configuration are invalid:
- you want to see "true" fps to judge application performance, not to improve visual quality.
- you can tell the difference between 45 and 60 and 85 fps when you''re in a fast-paced action game. try spinning all the time in quake with all visual settings set to maximum.
- computer monitor and tv screen are different technologies, what is true for one is not necessarily true for the other. refresh rate issue is where the two have differences.
