Using id's BSP file format.

Dear all, I seem to remember reading somewhere that I can''t use the id''s BSP file format in a commercial game. Is that true? Jesse

go to their homepage and check out the licence of the released tools

When I was working on my thesis project I was using their BSP''s too. To be sure that I can use it legally I wrote to ID to ask for a permission. The answer was that they don''t have a copyright for the file formats but the tools are their proprietary software.
