Hi! I have just finished reading Joseph "Ironblayde" Farrell's "Game Programming Genesis" articles and I'm now wondering about the script-engine he talks about in the articles. Is there any articles out there which covers writing a script-engine like that. I've looked at the articles at www.flipcode.org but it seems to complex, the one that Farrell talks about seems somewhat more simple. And I liked the idea that you could use a script-engine to test only one part of your game. I'm currently starting on a RPG game like Zelda for the SNES and I was wondering if there where any articles that described how to go about it. I'm not interested in alot of code but how the systems would be designed and a more general overlook of how RPGs work, I want to figure out the code myself. Any articles on Game States would also be appreciated. If somebody knows where to find articles of this kind please let me know. [edited by - dentrum on December 27, 2002 3:05:57 PM]

I just bought a book about rpg programming by Jim Adams, search for it in the books section of gamedev.net.
It was worth every dollar

The nice thing about C++ is that only your friends can handle your private parts.
