GUI in GL?

How do i make a GUI using openGL? I have some network(console) code working, and id like to put in a nice chat in an openGL window. Like a text box with an edit field in the bottom, as ive seen it in so many games. Im new to openGL, so the solution might be very obvious. - There is no conspiracy!

I don''t think there''s a very obvious solution. I think you have to make your own GUI.

there s been a thread a while ago about windows guis with opengl they posted links to libraries too
