Uninstall 8?

Just new to this. The Dx9SDK says to uninstall previous versions first...Since I can run DxDiag, and it tells me that I have 8.1, I assume that I have previous version installed. How then do I uninstall 8.1? I see nothing in add/remove programs in control panel, and I find no uninstall for DX.. Any good help greatly appreciated! fm

If you are new to this then you probably do not have the DX8 SDK. The docs say to uninstall the SDK. If you don''t have it, you can''t uninstall it. Also - if you read a little more closely, you cannot uninstall the runtime for DX. The runtime is what the standard home user has.

So to sum - if you have never installed a previous version of the DX SDK, no worries. Go ahead and install the 9.0sdk.
