Hey, I am looking to start a small group, mainly programmers at first, hopefully from the UK or Europe (Timezone issues). This group would preferably be beginners with some experience of directX, namely directdraw7 (as I am only in the process of trying to learn D3D myself). I have written a few small programs, and have got the working basics of a graphics and input engine complete (DirectDraw7), on which I was writing Tetris.. but somewhere along the line lost momentum. Now, I know you are all gonna say, why not just finish that on your own.. but I figured there are plenty of people that are starting this, that could benefit from this. What I would hope to discuss is the creation of an original 2d puzzle game. This would then lead to the team creating the game. When it comes to graphics etc.. I would be quite happy to accept newbie artists, but that couldn''t be decided until the program has actually started development. As I say I am a programmer, so I can and will be contributing. I would like it if the team could build our own engine from scratch, but will provide mine as proof that I can do this. I would prefer no absolute newbies, and preferrably over 18, but if you can provide examples of your code I would discuss with any other members of the team. Numbers, I would think that three or four programmers at the most would be quite sufficient, with the individual roles being decided once we have a working group. I do want to document this entire thing, I want each stage planned before it is programmed.. so if you aren''t willing to do so don''t contact. E-Mail Me! or.. message me, hammerstein02 on AIM quentin17_98 on Yahoo =*= If things seem bad, think that they can get a whole load worse, and they don''t seem so bad anymore =*=

Hey,
We are still looking for one more programmer, our numbers have now reached the lofty heights of two, want to hit the three. After prelimenary discussions, it has been decided that we now require an artist/creative person (Also based in UK / Europe) to assist us with the general design and artwork for our project. This isn''t a paying post, and we have no designs on it being.. so we can''t pay you for you work. However it would be a good showcase for all of us.. so please contact..

Post here, or e-mail / IM on the above address''

There is still space on the team if anyone cares to reply / enquire. We have some initial ideas, and there are now three of us, two programmers and an artist. We are still looking for a creative person / persons and artists good with character design. Would like a third programmer, with over 1 year of C++ with fair to good understanding of object orientation including the design would be beneficial, its not imperative you have worked on other games/teams but you need to know what you are doing with a C++ program and at least know a bit about directx.

maybe newbie isn't the right word, but it seemed it when I wrote the original post.

The more I write on here, the more I feel I am opening this up to flamers.. so if you are at least interested, are in the UK and have spare time to dedicate to a games project and are mature enough to understand the design process and the work it takes before programming, then please, e-mail, IM or whatever.. this is a serious attempt. Thanks

btw, This is not a preconceived idea for a game either, just puzzle.. so the entire team has input as to what it is about and how it is constructed..
