I have come to the conclusion that in order to save money I need to start cooking my own food. As I have nearly no experience cooking what are some easy to cook, cheap dishes that also give you everything you need? Nothing too over-centric, mine doesn't have a temp gauge, I guess you're supposed to use the force to know how hi to turn it.

I usually go with chicken breast. Use a bit of shake ''n bake powder and some salt and fry it on the pan for 10-15 mins. It''s pretty healthy and tastes good. Try some instant mashed potatoes on the side.

Hehe... student life! I got tired of pizza, so I turned to the type of foods that require about 15 minutes of preparation.

If you have a freezer, you need never go hungry. Ready meals - pastas, traditional pies, etc... buy ''em, freeze ''em, and when you want them, you just get them out, bake them, and eat em. They''re not bad, either.

Also, tinned food is good. The thing that tinned food and ready meals have in common is that they come with instructions on the packaging of what to do, and they''re usually fast (microwavable, or just stick them in the over and wait for a bit).

Pasta. Boil some water, put the pasta in the water. When the pasta is ready (you''ll have to keep sampling it every now and then), drain the water using a sieve, and serve.

Pasta with sauce. Get sauce - if you can''t find something calling itself ''sauce,'' look for ''condensed soups,'' they work well too. Put into saucepan. Heat *gently*. While heating gently, cook pasta as shown above. Serve pasta, serve sauce on pasta, serve.

Oh, and see if you can spark up cooking competitions with your friends. We had a pasta-cooking competition here at one point, and people kept creating more and more interesting sauces and stuff to try and outdo each other...
