DO you think that Microsoft will wipe C++ slowly by making DirectX SDK 12 C# only? .lick

firstly, what does FUD mean?

my answer:

no

C++ is a tool, and certain people prefer certain tools. Also C++ is a very flexible language which gives you greater control over whats really going on.

People still write in assembly... i know i do.

Ah yes, Microsoft has an evil secret agenda behind everything. Remember those people a couple of years ago who were positive Microsoft would distribute the DX runtimes for free first, making people dependant of them, and then start charging money for downloading newer versions?

Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. It''s when you start spreading damaging rumours about an entity you don''t like(a competitor, MS, etc...)

I''ve looked at the source, and there are pieces that are good and pieces that are not ... My experience and some of my friends'' experience is that Linux is quite unreliable. Microsoft is really unreliable but Linux is worse. -- Ken Thompson

Of course they won''t, developers have spent 100''s of millions of pounds developing their libraries in C++ do you think that they would simply say OK when microsoft asked them to rewrit the lot?

Also why on earth would ms want to do this anyway. In fact the more i think about it, this is one of the most stupid questions i have ever heard.

Well that would certainly explain why they are putting so much effort into making Everett 98% ISO C++ compliant.
Oh, wait ...
