PHP is probably one of the very best, since it is very powerful, very easy to learn, and can be run on virtually any platform for the price of nothing

Flash seems to be kicking ass when it comes to dynamic graphics. You can use actionscript (flashs own script-language), and integrate it with php.

XML also rules, since its a cool way to send/recieve specific data, and it is used for the extensively used .NET. Flash also support it, as do PHP.

Anyway, if you wanna go loco cheap and cross-platform, AND keep it simple, Id say youd go with Apache Server, PHP, HTML, XML, and MySql. (gurus: am I right? Dont wanna fool anybody) Flash exists as a demo that can create pretty neat stuff for you...

Right now I''m using ATL Server. This pretty much lets you write your page in C++ and do whatever you want with it. Its also pretty easy to learn. I''ve also worked with ASP.NET and php.
