Anyone knows a good way to debug in a directX game? My game is a little windowd directdraw program. Currently I print to a popup window, but this is not a good way. Especially in loops... :-) I''m using DirectX 8.1 and Visual Studio 6... Regards, Mattias

OutputDebugString is your friend.

Or write to a log file. Log files are especially useful in Retail builds that have problems.

If your game is windowed you should be able to debug a directx game the same way you would debug any other application. Read up on using the MSVC debugger (I don''t have any good links to hand, maybe someone else does?).
