I''m having this problem with school. I go to school, get homework, etc. Then, when I get home, I don''t do it. Simply put. I don''t do my homework. Instead, I''ll spend my time coding or posting on a few forums (I have 4 now that i regularly post at. I also have a job.) So, the next day, I''ll do my 1st per homework before 1st period, second period homework during 1st period... and so on. I get Bs, but I''d rather get As. Seriously, why can I devote so much time to game development, when I can''t devote any time to school? Is there anything that helped keep you motivated? i used to get straight A''s, but I''m slacking now. I mean, my brain works like this: If I CAN do it later, why not? Game development takes a lot of motivation, what I have, just not for school. So I thought here would be a good place to post. Thanks.

Um.. you know what you have to do, I don''t see how hearing some people on a messageboard tell you is going to help you.

If you don''t like the fact that you''re procrastinating..then don''t procrastinate.

As for the rest of us slackers.. we''ll do it later.

Motivation for school is alot different than motivation for game programming

school = suXors
Game Programming = roXors

but it all comes down to what grade you wan''t to get,
I could get straight A''s easily but it would take up my precios time and I am happy with B''s and C''s

I bet you are a lot like I was, school was boring and for the most part very easy. You would sit in class, listen to the teacher and then ace the test without ever picking up a book.

My suggestion is try to put together a study group. Having a bunch of people together helps a lot. And do your homework away from home. Got to a library instead, or a park a restaurant, anywhere that is quite and there is no temptation to do something else.

The secret to feeling motivated is to start. Motivation sometimes comes from starting, and isn''t necessarily the reason to start.
It's not what you're taught, it's what you learn.
