I''ve done some searching and whatnot for groups of people in any way interested in anything related to computers in San Diego, CA. I haven''t had any success though. I know some people floating around gamedev around the area, but yea besides those few people I know of noone else and can''t seem to find anyone like this. Im wondering if there are any clubs or something nearby that I could get to know some more people with some interests similar to mine. So yea, if anyone could share some related info. thanks.

Go hang out in the programming books section of Barnes and Noble.
When someone picks up a gamedev book, star talking to them. Some people may think you are crazy, I would be one of those people, but at least you would find other like minded people, except for the crazy thing...

Heh, yea; I''ve tried doing that a few times. I dont remember ever meeting anyone younger than like 25 though. Oh well, I''ll try some more times. Also, I guess I could go to the monthly 2600 meetings down near Von''s shopping center.

I''ve been meaning to go to the 2600 meetings for a while but havnt gotten around to going. They took there webpage down, so I dont know were ther meetings are held or if they even still had them.

Other than that, its pretty hard to find computer guys in SD. I know a few from school but they all moved up to Fullerton and I''m probably going to move up there as well.

:/

Oh you could go to Toorcon(www.toorcon.org) although the page isnt updated at all, I imagine there is a lot of local computer guys who go there. I met a few of the peiople who run it when I was at defcon. Theyre pretty cool but theyre more like in there late 20''s early 30''s.

Anyway, goodluck. I''ve been trying to do what youre doing for the last few years but have had no sucess outside of school.

Their site seems up for me. (www.2600.com)
Here''s a link to their meeting list as of december 2002, http://www.2600.com/meetings/mtg.html

So yea, I''m doubting any of what I want, with what I just wrote about, is too likely. Hopefully the 2600 meetings will work out. Thanks for the ToorCon link.
