Can someone point me towards "the new" windows.h file(s), that have support for ChoosePixelFormat, SetPixelFormat, SwapBuffers.. I really need it and I dont know why its not in with what I already have (the "updated" DevC++4.9.bla beta..) you would think it would be easy to find this, but I just googled for over an hour to no avail. help! -DA

I just downloaded the 4.x version from Bloodshed (http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html)and the functions you are looking for are in the wingdi.h file right where they belong.

hmm thats weird, I can''t compile this demo thats calling those functions, and it had included windows.h, but I got a linker error saying those functions arent there..
maybe I have to #include wingdi.h ???
thanks!

Did you link to the appropriate libraries?

If you got a linker error then the problem shouldn''t be in the header files but in the libraries you''re linking to (or lack thereof).

Im using this for switches under linker options:
-lmingw32 -lglu32 -lopengl32

I tried -winmm but that didn''t work either..
ohwell its not all that important anyway, I''ll just have to port it to sdl..

They''re in libgdi32.a. (The first clue was the fact that the prototypes were in wingdi.h).

Well my friend you could have mentioned that earlier. I didn''t think there so much mystery to it. I must not have thought I''d have to link with a whole ''nother library just to use these 3 retarded functions that are already functions in other APIs Im using.. damn m$! blea I refuse to, but thanks anyway.

Pardon me for trying to be helpful. I don''t even use DevC++. I took the time to download the package, install it, and search to make sure everything you needed was included.

Geez!
