I have VC6 Standard Edition, and I''m wondering whether to upgrade to VC .NET Standard. Is it worth the upgrade?

Nah, I''d say its not worth it... In my opinion, .net is just some marketing gimmic from micro$oft.. I don''t see any reason why its better than vcpp6

The only real reason to upgrade is that the .NET compiler is a bit more standards compliant. (So I''ve heard)

My sig used to be, "God was my co-pilot but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him..."
But folks whinned and I had to change it.

I upgraded yesterday.

Ill downgrade tomorrow.

First impression was "This sucks". But then I decided that I would give it a chance. After about 20 hours of nonstop coding in it, ive decided it goes out tomorrow. The IDE is hard to work in and it looks like a bad webbased texteditor. All "nice" and "friendly" looking buttons just distracts you. I give Visual studio 4 out of 5. A strong 4. .Net IDE 2 tops.
