Everybody loves roleplaying, and here is a forum thread to get it going here in the lounge. Increase your post count, while entertaining many people--while not looking like a large idiot. The purpose of this roleplaying thread is to play a character in the Reboot universe. While you cannot take major characters (Turbo, Enzo, Matrix, Bob, Dot, etc), you can make yourself one based on the various classes of characters in the Reboot universe. NO HIJACKING CHARACTERS! The system that this will take place on is the Game Dev.net server. I will start: Elissa come in through the web portal. She was quite surprised as to how the web creatures stopped chasing her as she came to this system. There was a semipotent stench--like a kitty litter box. Elissa had to keep cover as one of the admins could recognise her as a trogan version of the Eliza program that went around a long time ago. Elissa steps into a bar adequatly named: "The Lounge" "great now every time i eat at subway all I''m going to be able to think about is that I''m eating a big fat penis and vagina sandwich." -- monkey8751 And thus Dake Desian Confusion Engulfed the land that once thought Bennetian Slow Motion Combat Bubbles were the worst of their troubles Brotherhood of Landfish Return }>BLR<{ Erm... do not look at where this image is linked too... Wasn''t Reboot meant for 5yr olds?

God was my co-pilot but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him...
My sig used to be, "God was my co-pilot but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him..."
But folks whinned and I had to change it.

Reboot was meant for around 10 year olds when it first came out, but it matured with it''s fanbase, so it ended at around 15 year olds.

Ah - I only caught like 2 episodes and it seemed amazingly childish. Also seemed like it was written by folks that would have trouble finding the "any" key.

I never missed an episode. Reboot was the first fully computer animated television series. It blazed trails for others to follow. From HERE, it debued in September 1994.

It had great characters and good story lines. I never forgave them though when the series turned rather dark after Enzo got trapped in the game and became Matrix. I guess the idea was to appeal to an older audience.

I feel it was and is very underrated. It was a very bold thing to do at the time. It should be appreciated if not for its content then at least for its history.

As for a character, I''ll be Megabytes pet NULL Nibbles, who is also Megabytes father.

Roleplaying threads are pretty sad IMO. Regardless, I can''t wait to see how the Band of Morons around here will hijack the plot and lead us into an encounter with the GOATSE GUY.

{500 error - how does anything ever get posted around here?}

I doubt anyone will post goats, since the new goats rule took effect.

And roleplaying threads aren''t the bad, I just don''t think that they should be on gamedev forums. If I ever get my server back I''ll throw an "anything goes" forum on that so that people can crap post and roleplay all they want

I loved that part. It certainly seemed they were going for an older audience, and it got a lot more interesting IMO. Ah, the return of the Crimson Binome!

Then again, maybe that''s just me since I enjoy continuity-heavy series, and the third season of ReBoot seemed more like a six-hour movie. Even better, tack on the last four episodes of the second season. The Power Rangers parody was hilarious

That is alright--except in Season four, Hexadecimal helps the mainframe citizens discover that Nibbles is actually Enzo, Dot and Matrix'' father.

You know, it is actually funny that I get flamed over this--particularly by people who have only watched half the seasons.

As for the childnes values... erm... I will not go there--it would get this thread closed due to massive flaming.

I''m very confused.

Looks like I''m a season behind.

I thought it was revealed in the Nullzilla episode that Nibbles was Megabytes father. At the end of the episode, Megabyte was petting Nibbles and called it father.

As for Hexedecimal, she returns ?
I thought that was the end of her when she went after Daemon.

So much to catch up on.

I can suspect that Megabyte was calling Nibbles father, because there really is only one fatherly sprite that advanced in Mainframe--all the others are binomes. Remembering too, that Enzo''s, and Dot''s father was the one that destroyed the dual city.

As for Hexidecimals part in this, I did not see the first made for TV movie, but I did see the second one, "a Tale of Two Bobs." Inwhich Enzo''s icon had been infected by Hexidecimal. The icon reacts with Nibbles, and gives Nibbles the ability to speak. At the same time, it is revealled that the second Bob (the one not merged with glitch) is an upgraded version of Megabyte with Trojaning and Aliasing abilities.

So, you never know--it might be revealled that Nibbles is actually Megabyte''s father, and only lying about being Enzo''s and Dot''s father... more reason to see Season Five, when it comes out.
