Hi all, I''ve been working with c++ for awhile now, and consider myself somewhat advanced in the topic, but i still shudder at the thought of having to use strings. I just spent a day going through 5 or 6 different programming books i have, and they all seem just as reluctant to discuss strings as me. So i was wondering if anybody knew any good online tutorials for strings and character manipulation online?? Thanks for any help or recommendations i get --Ninj4D4n

Well, you basically got c-style strings and the standard template library''s string class in the header file string.

Here''s a link to a pdf on c-style strings: www.fordtopp.com/C-StyleStrings.pdf

Here''s a link to info on stl strings: www.msoe.edu/eecs/ce/courseinfo/stl/string.htm

you might also try googling for "c-style strings" and/or "c++ string class" for more info.

Just out of curiosity, how can you consider yourself somewhat advanced in c++ and not know about using strings? Not being mean, I really want to know.

It was just something i got away with not learning for a real long time. I''ve only written a few programs that actually involove manipulating strings. I mostly do graphic programing type stuff.
