I have some problems understanding the difference between the different input ranges for absolute axis. First you specify the lAxisMax and lAxisMin, in the DIACTIONFORMAT structure(passed to EnumDevicesBySemantics in my case). I''m very unsure what theese values means, are they a recommendation to the driver, that you want a range between those values, or do all devices always have to return values between those two ranges? If not I assume I have to use GetProperty, to get the actual range returned. Then there is the DIPROP_RANGE, that you use when using SetProperty for a single axis. Is that right? So, I can override a single axis range by using that method? But why the restriction, no negative ranges? What if I want to reverse the axis? How do I do that then? And the doc also says that for some devices this is readonly. So that would mean that this is pretty useless, doesn''t it? Furthermore theese ranges doesn''t have any connection to the actual physical range, right? So, I can''t limit the physical range, for example, making only steering to the left possible? Not that I want to do that, but that''s just an example. And finally why theese custom ranges at all, wouldn''t it have been better to have a fixed range like -1.0f to 1.0f or -10000 to +10000 instead? Would it make sense to makea function that returns ranges like that instead? Because that would be much easier to work with.

Bumping this up...

Eventhough the InputManager I have now is working, I''m not completely sure about theese things, so I would still like an answer...
