Im faced with a really hard decision to make, i enjoy both programming and 3d modeling and animation, im just not to sure what to pick if even any of them. Can somebody please tell me how much each pays, and how much work there is out there. Also can someone please tell me what usually the higher paying programming jobs are coz game programming i hear is pritty low unless you have a break and make the next half-life or something which would be pritty nice to be part of

Well, I''d suggest programming, and here''s why. 3D modelling and animation is suitable in very few professions, namely Game Development, and other studio''s (movies, etc.) However, if you get into programming, there''s TONS of jobs, even if you don''t make it as a Game programmer (which is pretty tough to get into). I''m working for Motorola as a Software Engineer, been out of College (GA Tech) for 3 years, and I make over 65k. I don''t hav hellish hours, and I really enjoy my job (Embedded Programming, ie, Firmware).

I don''t know much about professional game programmers, and how much they make, but outside of game programming, there''s so much else you can do if your a good programmer.

1st AP,

You saying there''s more jobs doing 3D modeling? Because that''s what he was asking.

And there''s people of all professions unemployed right now. It''s still a down time in the economy, but it''ll pick back up.

Programmers are always in need, it''s just that you have to do a little searching, especially in areas where you wouldn''t normally think there would be programmers, i.e utilities.
