You would have to make a library (routine) to do what you need. In php the equivalent is explode. You might try searching the web for that, as php is more closly related ( *bLah ) with c.

strtok is as close as you''ll get without special libraries like Boost (if it has that kinda function), but even then that function is tricky to use because of how it works.
