Problem installing Visual Studio 6.0

I bought a new graphic card (9700 pro) some days ago and did a reinstallation of WinXP (home) and also installed SP1. Everything was working just fine until I was to install Visual Studio 6.0. It just wouldn’t install it. As soon as I press the setup.exe I get some error message (doesn’t say what’s wrong) and the installation is canceled. Its nothing wrong with the CD, it works fine in my other computer. Has anyone had similar experience or have some ideas of what it could be, please let me know. Thanks

doesn''t microsoft have a support site?

Yes, they do but I have not been able to find any info regarding my problem with VC6.0 installation. In fact I could find much info at all about visual studio at their support site.
I guess the only way is to reinstall windows again and hope it works this time.
