I''m going to take my SAT''s in two days, In the practice tests I''ve been taking I''ve had scores ranging from 1300-1500, how do you think this would relate to my actual test scores and also what did you get on your SAT''s? ----------------------------- "It''s a damn poor mind that can think of only one way to spell a word!" -- Andrew Jackson

I would assume a little bit less because of anxiety or nervousness.

Mine were actually higher than my practice tests. I got a 1280 I think. On a side note, I hate those damn things with a passion. I''m still not sure what they actually measure, or how it''s at all related to my college success.

Speaking of PSAT''s, I got my results back a week or two ago....

214, which translates into a 2140. Woo!

72 Verbal, 75 Math, 67 Writing. I was pretty happy.

Hmmm..........good call

But there really were 3 sections on the PSAT. Are there still only 2 on the actual SAT, or have they changed it to 3?

Huh, oh well. You''re probably right. Which means that firahs got a DAMN good score :D

The third section "Writing" refers to the SATII writing test. And damn you on your 214, my index was 202.

I wouldn''t trust the scores many of the people here will tell you. I can just as easily tell you I earned a 1500, as tell you my real score of a 1300 (flat). The majority of the people here will bullshit you.

Again, what do the scores even mean? I personally think they are useless, not to mention gender and socioeconomically biased.

DOWN WITH THE SATS!!!

the scores dont mean all that much in some ways, but matter a lot to many colleges, which is what matters. you can study for and to the sats and get better grades by learning the patterns and rules the writers follow.

btw, my psat index was 215... i have to wait until APRIL to find out what the cutoff for the national merit finalist running is... it WAS 215 last year.

My SAT test was at 8:00 am on the morning after my high school graduation....so naturally I fell asleep during the test

It was no big deal though. The test was just a formality since I received a full 4-year scholarship from my high school.
Like the college was going to turn that money down?

PSAT - 216
Math - 78
Verbal - 62
Writing - 76

SAT - 1440
Math - 800
Verbal - 640

My practice tests were usually pretty close, although I always did worse on the verbal section on the real thing.

I''ve got to concentrate on the SAT II tests now, but at least I don''t have to take the SAT''s again this year or my senior year.

Although I hate the SAT''s as a student who has to go through it, they aren''t that bad. They''re changing the format soon anyway, right?
