I have long desired to be a game programmer/designer, yet I can''t muster the energy to like math beyond trigonometry, and since I''m a computer engineering major, I need many math-intense courses to graduate. (UW-Milwaukee doesn''t differentiate computer/software engineering and barely computer science/engineering.) Should I continue in this major and, if nae, which should I take? -EE "The Confused"

I think you need to develop your ego so that you can decide things for yourself rather than asking random internet users to decide for you.

Ultimately you know yourself better than anyone, so you should make this decision. Any advice someone could give you would be very uninformed and general.

I used to dislike maths too... I fell asleep halfway through the classes and couldn''t be arsed to do anything for it. Now I regret I didn''t pay attention because now I''ve seen all those practical uses of it (since I''ve started with 3D programming), I''m beginning to like it. It''s even fascinating to some point.

All I can say is keep going. Find practical uses of what you''re learning and you''ll find it more interresting. Maths is VERY important in this kind of programming.

I agree with the AP above: "If you''re not willing to do the hard stuff, then you don''t have what it takes to be a game programmer"
