Hey all, I''ve become familiar with directDraw through helps of books I have bought. And I''ve read part of the Role Playing Book for 3D. But recently I''ve noticed the SDK for directX is full of information. But the first few sections I''ve read has just been theory. Which is ok. You need to know how it works. My question is. Is should I read the SDK documentation to start on my way to becoming proficient at Direct3D. Please Note that I''m one of those people that can learn from reading text books. I just don''t want to waste my time if it won''t help me at all.

I dont know. Why dont you read the SDK information and find out for yourself? Simply skip topics you already know about.

Of course, read the SDK docs.
Read the "Driving DirectX" column at microsoft.com
Join DirectXDev ( microsoft''s developer only mailing list ) and read the info posted there ( yet, don''t post basic questions. Basic questions had better go here ).
