Prepared to be married for just long enough to make sure she''s not going to be deported, and a divorce that will leave you with half (if not less) of the money you had before.

I know a guy who agreed to marry one Russian girl for her to get citizenship. They were having a little relationship going on at the same time also, and the guy was kinda hoping that by marrying her, their relationship would proceed to even deeper level, even though it was just for the sake of citizenship.

Well, what happens is that the girl dumped the guy immediately after the marriage, telling him all the time how she doesn't have time to hang with him cuz she's spending time with her girlfriends. The guy got so pissed off he started demanding the girl some monthly payments to stay married with him, otherwise he would get divorce. This pisses the girl off but she pays. Then that's not enough for the guy though, and he starts asking for more money because now he's having new relationships and he has to explain to his new girlfriends how he's married, but still not "really married".. And so on, it's a mess, and he regretted it greatly afterwards since the girl didn't have that much to pay him anyways in the end, so he didn't really get anything out of it.

Nobody is ever going to be eternally grateful to you... People are not like that. When she gets what she wants, she will go on with her own life and forget about you, unless you managed to do an everlasting impression to her in the first place.
