Hello! I have a problem. I can rotate the camera, I can zoom and scroll it, and my character walks exactly where I click in the 3D space. Now, I placed some walls in the scene. And my character needs to avoid the walls and all blocking objects. I can check it with collision detection, so I can stop the character before walking into the wall, but how can I make the character to walk around the wall, and reach the destination point? (Like in Dungeon Siege, Neverwinter Nights, etc.) I don''t have a clue. Any idea? Thanks, Drakon

hiya dracoon,

what method do you use for collision detection against static objects?

anyway, to answer your question, i guess it''s time now that you look up algorithms regharding pathfinding, because that''s what they call it. the algorithm you''d like to look up would be A*, search this on AI websites like gameai.com,

basically, i think it involves building a graph and traversing these graph to move your characters,
