If someone creates an MFC workspace/project in VC++ 6, can someone load it using VC++ .NET and compile & run it fine? In other words, is there backwards compatiblity here?

Quick answer: No. You can load it up in vs.NET, convert it and compile it but the vs.6 person will no longer be able to use it. (AFAIK)

It will load up fine and compile fine, and I think it leaves behind a copy of the old dsw, but doesn''t modify it. If you need a project converter to go back to VC6, I think TheCodeProject has one somewhere.

How extensive are the MFC modifications?

I can''t, I don''t have .NET

So we''re talking minor differences in MFC?
