Hello everybody, I''ve installed W2000 and every time it starts, it access my disk drive. Is it normal? This happens every time, even when there were no other programs installed (like an antivirus). Is it normal to take sometime (around 30 seconds to start the restarting process? If I click Start->ShutDown->Restart, it will take 30 seconds to restart. But if I press the power button it turns off imediatelly... Why such a difference? Thanks in advance, Andre "- To begin with, said the Cat, a dog''s not mad. You grant that? - I suppose so, said Alice. - Well, then, - the Cat went on - you see, a dog growls when it''s angry, and wags its tail when it''s pleased. Now I growl when I''m pleased, and wag my tail when I''m angry. Therefore I''m mad."

I have Windowxs XP but similar occurences so I''ll post anyway.
Yea on login and sometimes before, the disk drive is accessed, I thought it was anti-virus but at least I know its not caused by a virus.
I don''t know about your shutdown restart complaints, when I restart, XP will close my programs then sit on the full screen "Windows is restarting...." for 30secs or so till POST, shutdown is the same.

So I don''t think there is anyhing to worry about, but its worth checking anyway.
