I have Jim Adam''s book: Programming Role Playing Games with DirectX, and I''ve managed to ready alot of stuff about DirectX. I''m overwhelmed with all of the code... Here''s my problem: I have made a World Map in Milkshape3D that I want loaded into Direct X using a .X file. When it''s loaded, I want something where you''re in a first-person view, and can freely walk around (similar to Jim''s Meshlvl demo). Could someone provide me with the framework for that please?

Forgot to add: I am using Direct X 8.1

I really need help with this. I tried to load the .ms3d file (Like the one on NeXe) but it has no textures on it, and it''s just green. Please any help would be appreciated.

Is there a reason you can''t use Jim''s code?

I don''t know... I guess I just don''t understand DirectX... All of the tut''s I read expect you to know everything they talk about... Can someone direct me to some links to help me learn DirectX? I''ve tried the NeXe already.
