I''d like to have floating and docking toolbars in a windowed mode app i''m writing. When I say floating and docking, think MS word. All their toolbars can be docked at the top of the window (shrinking the client area) or they can be pulled away from the top and float over the client area. My question is... What are these toolbars? Are they Menu''s or Dialog Boxes? Neither? I''m sort of confused here. Searching for toolbars within MSVC++ resulted in a few hundred results with nothing relating to what i''m looking for. -Will Reynard

I cant answer all your post right now, but all controls are windows really, and a toolbar is a literal window... thats how it docks.

I''m not sure what kind of app your making but why not use MFC. MFC allows you to add exactly the toolbar your looking for very easily

And if you''re not interested in using MFC, take a look at the tutorial at www.catch22.uk.net
