I''ve been programming DirectX for a while and I''m using 8 now. But I''ve never touched on music portion before and am learning. I went to http://www.gamedev.net/reference/articles/article1689.asp to learn a bit from there but I''m still not sure how to play 2 sounds together w/o deleting the first to play the second. I tried creating different segments and running them through the performance and that did nothing, do I need to create a performance for each channel? Or is there some way to pipe each sound through their own channel? Any links to some tutorials or what not would be helpful.

You must have:

- 1 Performance object
- 1 Loader object
- As many segments as sounds you want to play

To be able to play many segments at the same time, use the DMUS_SEGF_SECONDARY when calling IDirectMusicPerformance8:laySegmentEx().

Thanks a lot! I guess that flag is what I was missing.

Back to work then
