Hi I have a problem and I don''t know how to tackle it. The problem is related to the performance of my opengl scene. What I do is the following. I have a 3D object in 30 different conditions. For each condition I create a different display list, so for example when I want to animate the model, I just display the display lists after each other. Now my problem is the following. When I just look at one model (not in animation mode) my engine keeps rendering to the screen, even when no changes are made (rotation or translation). This makes my scene and my mouse cursor flickering on some computers. What I want is that my engine detects when the model is not idle (for example when the user is rotating it) anymore and only renders new images the screen at that moment. I hope I made my point clear. Can anybody help me. Tnx.

You can simply make a seperate loop for key presses and only when the mouse is clicked and dragged or a key is pressed, update the scene. If nothing is pressed, just dont do anything.

It is also flickering when i don''t perform a user action on the 3D model. Can''t I just stop new render input when nothing is happening, so the last rendered image remains on the rendering context?
