Test me!

Original Post
Making a 'speed test' thread seemed a good idea based upon the results of the last speed test thread, so please download this and tell me what your FPS readings are as well as system specs, and maybe even a comment on how it looks

Neither is your knowledge of OGL. Try installing the GLUT.
Hah'', yeah I''d have to agree with Zealous there, install glut, you can get it from opengl.org, be sure to get the latest version.
Thanks, ~SPH
Well, a user should never have to install (or rather, just download) something to run your programs. It would be a good idea later on to package glut.dll with your program. But since some may already have it, at least make a note of it for people to see.

Yes, well I''m just testing something out its not at all a finished product, so I didn''t think it was neccisarry.
I would appriciate any FPS info! ~SPH
Solid 70fps.
Athlon XP 1800+
GeForce3 Ti200
256MB PC2100 DDR
Windows XP Pro
Looks kinda cool to me. Although I might add that your reshape function is either broken or not present.

I was trying to decide weather my class architecture was too layered to be practical, now that I see it is not (its just my slow ass computer
Yes, the reshape is not yet implemented in the class structure; it will of course be at a later time
Thanks! ~SPH

I have taken the time to optimize, and now what ran at 10fps on this machine (the demo) now is running at 40, I will post the new version at some point soon.
Thanks, ~SPH
Sorry if I sounded too harsh or too rude there, ShmeeBegek and ZealousElixir. But I *did* add a smiley after that comment.
I know about GLUT, just don''t use it myself. Of course I could have downloaded it. But, honestly. I wasn''t really that interested in trying out the demo.
Yet I found I had the dll lying around from some other app. and hijacked it... so here you go anyway:
70-71 fps
2.4GHz P4, 512MB RAM
GeForce 2 GTS
WinXP Pro
The colored ''blobs'' or ''clouds'' or whatever they where looked pretty and blended with each other quite nicely. An effect for a screensaver perhaps?

It was a lighting test on a sphere...
I wrote the lighting algorythem myself, and that is the un-optimized version, it is now about 3-4x faster depending on system.
It does not just light sphere of course, it lights any polygonal shape (including points).
Thanks, ~SPH
Hahaha, now I know why you called them clouds! I forgot to mention that you can move around / turn with WSAD, and to a limeted extent look up / down with ZX.
If you move back with S you will see what the demo is really trying to create :-D.
Thanks, ~SPH
