How does it comes that a game made by a real game company like Bungie or id-software with real programmers runs with a fps speed that''s okey (30 fps). Than a opengl game made by a person like one of us have a very slow fps speed (a matter of seconds between the screen updates (0,5 fps). Anton Karlsson Klingis Entertainment Games with silly humor

Remember that most commercial games probably run quite slowly before they''re optimised, it''s just that you don''t get to see that because it''s optimised before it ever gets into the stores.

If the problem isn''t that your program is running in software, then use a profiler to find out where your program is spending most of its time. Optimise the functions your program is running the most.

I haven''t done a 3d game.
It''s when I play others 3d games I have downloaded from the internet like umlf, rendered with opengl.

What''s the difference between vertex arrays and vertex buffers?

And what''s optimise?

when using 3d-graphics you want to push as many vertices as possible to the graphics card at the same time (speed issues), to do that one use vertex buffers (Direct3D) or vertex arrays(OpenGL)

Optimise is to make the code more efficient, so that it can do more in less time.
