Hi, I'm lacking knowledge on exactly what 'Custom Interfaces'(for games)are exactly.I was browsing the books over at amazon and came across this book: Directx 2002 Custom Interface (by John Goes). http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/1556229720/qid=1046166841/sr=1-177/ref=sr_1_2_177/202-2255005-2206200 I was looking for a good book to help with tools, but this looked interesting. Is this book about making something like a game framework that you could extend through your own SDK? Going by the title,i'm not too sure what i can expect from it. Could somebody explain a little, about custom interface development? Thanks Steve. [edited by - SteveB on February 25, 2003 5:21:20 AM]

doesn t you think you should write a decent renderer first

do it in an oop style

and once you got everything important you can start thinking about this interface things
pumping your head ful with information about gamedev won t help

you need to make use of what you have read and then go on with other aspects of the game

i made the same mistakes like you in the past which led to a burn out

concentrate on one aspect of your game finish it as much as possible and then go on with other things
