Is it real or just imaginary. I personally think right now at the present, that it's imaginary, at least in this and the 2nd dimension. This is so because it is not reachable. And since you can't reach it, it must be an idea because you never have seen or experienced it. What are your thoughts on this? I've been thinking about this kinda things for some time now. Some really deep thinking, like inside of me or something. One thing is pi or never ending numbers. How would you know that it is never ending? It might end sometime, just very far from now. Another thing is space.

Yeah, I''d look out here... your brain may well self detonate.

Infinity is not necessarily as mysterious as it seems to be. Like infinite (large or small) numbers. It is pretty easy to digest that you always can always increase or decrease them. It is only a matter of having enough resources.

I'm not sure how it is proven that pi contains an infinite number of digits in base ten, but I think it is proven somehow. Consider that pi in base pi equals 1.

As for space-time, it is still under debate if it is infinite or not. It depends on whether or not the universe will expand forever, or at some point start to contract, which is unknown.

EDIT: Hmm, space is not infinite. I think you can find figures of how big the universe is, which are calculated on the time since the big bang and the speed of the expansion. I think it's somewhere around 40 billion light years across (may be very inaccurate).

The first step to understand infinity, is to accept that you cannot imagine it.

Perhaps infinity is an illusion of nothing; while nothing may take the form of infinity

... Maybe we are in a universe of nothingness being made of nothing ourselves... and nothingness takes the illusion of being something

Ok... then I have to ask. If the universe is flat, then where and what are the ends?

That is a good question.. but you must also ask is it space that is exanding into time? or is it time expanding into space?

Why does there have to be an end?

The proof that some numbers are irrational goes back to Pythagoras:

1)Assume that the square root of 2 is rational. This means that there are integers m,n such that:

2=(m*m)/(n*n) and m,n have no common factors (except 1).

2) rearranging gives: m*m=2*n*n. Therefore 2 divides m*m so 2 divides m.

3) replacing m with 2q gives: 4*q*q=2*n*n or 2*q*q=n*n

4) by the same argument as in 2), 2 divides n.

5) since 2 divides m and 2 divides n, this contradicts 1) and so the square root of two must be irrational.

Since all finite decimals are rational, the square root of two must have an infinite decimal.

thats what i was saying

maybe something is the default view of nothing...
nothing is not perhaps the empty void we imagine, rather it is all the universes.
