Don''t listen to him. That solution causes bowel irritation.

This is the polish virus. It is not an executable, but if you would kindly format your entire harddrive, we would be happy.

That happened to me on my new computer and I fixed it by using the XP repair option hidden deep under the "Install XP" option on my XP Pro installation CD. Didn''t have to reformat, but I had to reinstall all windows updates because it erased them.

Stick the hard drive in another pc, backup your files, put it back, format c: and reinstall windows

Ok ... what I did was get a new harddrive since my first one was almost full anyways. Then I was planning to put windows on the new one, but it wouldnt let me ... so I put a whole new copy of windows on the original ... it boots to that and all my files are there EXCEPT I can''t get into my documents on the old windows, which is where most of the stuff I didnt want to lose was, it says access denied ... anyone know how I can get around this? I know the files are still there, I just cant get into it...

Why didn''t you just fix your boot.ini file... Change it so it doesn''t boot in safe mode...

I had the same problem. Here's what I did.
1. create a dos32 partition.
2. Boot Knopix and mount your old drive and the new dos32 partition and copy the files to the dos32 partition.

You have to use a dos32 partition because linux should not write to a ntfs partition.
