ATTENTION: "PHYER", my small entertainment co. has just started a game development team. I currently have 1 programmer, 4 music composers and 1 planner. I am still in need of sprite artists and 2 more programmers at least. The reason why Im making such a large group is becuase the bigger it is, the MORE projects that can be covered at 1 time. Also to help speed up the development. I myself am the 1 planner, and Im trying my hand at music also. I was trying to learn pixelling but due to running the business and taking on other projects I have very little time to do this. Besides I feel it makes more sense to get people who are more specialized at it. ABOUT THE GAMES: I cant say much about the games at this time. I can tell you the games are being developed in c++(NO, CLICK & PLAY!). They are going to be sold commercially for the PC. Later on they will be made for other platforms. The only game console in mind for now is the Game boy advanced. The 1st string of games will all be 2D. 3D games are slated for development later. If you want more info about this or the games, feel free to contact me. REQUIREMENTS(for sprite artists): 1-Must be able to take on various styles even show signs of having own 2-Must be experienced in and capable of animation 3-Must be able to do backgrounds & tiles sets 4-Must be able to work with a team and help problem solve or take innitiative when needed! REQUIREMENTS(for musicians): 1-Must be knowledgable of many diffrent music formats 2-Must be able to take on various styles even show signs of having own REQUIREMENTS(for programmers): 1-Must be able to work with a team and help problem solve or take innitiative when needed 2-Must well versed with C or C++ 3-Open GL, or any gaming console programming skills are welcome but not required Age nor Schooling mean nothing to me. Just as long as you can do the task set befor you. WHAT YOU GET OUT OF IT: Of course what good is it all if you dont get anything from it? Aside from a feeling of accomplisment everytime you see a project you was in on a store shelf or in a magazine. You WILL be paid for your work. To get more info on this, contact me. Your also gaining valuable experience that you can add to a resume' when applying to a bigger company. Another good benefit is, its not just MY games being concentrated on. Everyone has ideas that are going to be made too. Thats right, anytime you have an idea for a game or 2 you have an actual TEAM right there to help you develop it(of course in an order). FEW MORE THINGS TO KNOW: We are ALL average normal people like yourself. So aside from this, we all have fulltime jobs and a life. But "focus" is the key element you need. This is for only those serious about putting thier skills to work for the love of it. Plus having an open mind does'nt hurt much either. You might even learn a few extra trades...1 of the better things about being in a group. __________________________________________________________________________________ You will then be paid an equal "percentage" for your contributions to the project(s) that you are placed on or volunteer for. But you only get this percentage WHEN the game(s) sell. Before you condemn this please finish reading and look at a bigger picture. Your NOT being paid that 1 time and 1 time only... Every time the works you participated in are bought you will get that same percent without fail. Each time...Everytime, no matter how old the game is or how old you get. As long as any store or distribution is ordering it, that equals "payday". I hope that helps explain it better. Now this is the "sweetening" of the deal. The privaledges! Im not gonna go over EVERYTHING except to those who really are interested. I'll give 1 good example: 5 free copies of the game you helped make...heck being in Phyer gets you alot of free copies of stuff if you request them of course! This even applies to the comics and other forms of merchandise too! Your part of the team and shall be treated as such. Meaning your opinions count and your ideas DO matter. But hey, I can give 1 more example of a privaledge: Getting YOUR own game ideas made! Thats right, as a part of the team, you can get actual team help to aid in developing your own game idea! lol

"you only get this percentage WHEN the game(s) sell"

if u''r making these games only for money, then u''r just setting urself up for disappointment... commercial games have actual "budgets", something required for a quality product that might actually have a chance in the market place...

Maaaaaaaahahaha. Who''s da king baby?

...And what else did it state?
All of us are normal people with a 9-5 & busy lives...therefore it means we are doing this soley for fun but not in a way where we''re stuck to thinking small. If anything is to make it you have to start small but start thinking BIG. Im no Joe millionair but if I was there would be saleries offered. But until ANY of the projects make it big or I hit the powerball(that would be sweet) we are doing this to further our own experiences but not placing our hopes so high that we set ourselves up for a motivational crash.
I understand where your comming from but I hope you can be openminded to see where we stand as well. If it works...GREAT...if not...Oh well, no real loss and we still can save face and try again.
So I guess you could say Im searching out kindred spirits for this to work.
Must EVERYTHING a person want to attempt in life require a huge price tag? If thats how a person feels its no wonder most just sit there on talents and rot away(sorry to get poetic)
