Tetris is essentially a single player game, the only way I can see to make it multiplayer is to have the players compete again each other..... They get exactly the same blocks at the same time and they have to get the maximum amount of points in the smallest time... Basically a Tetris Tournament (TM).

To make it massively multiplayer it becomes even harder to imagine

The only basic game I could see becoming massively multiplayer would be making pacman with extended maps.... The pacmen against the ghosts... Perhaps you could even extend it in 3D.

Thats the all point! having the imagination to create such a thing though packman would be fun too

Well what about having all the players lining up blocks in a 3D world?

i guess im delirious! but wouldn''t it be fun!

imagine! million ppl sending blocks to a multiplayer tetris.

hehehe (i can''t imagine, can you?)

It already exists, not only as 1v1 where you give the rows that you wipe out to your opponent, but as AP mentioned, there''s also TetriNet where, say, 8 players play at the same time. You then choose which player you want to target with the rows that you wipe, and you can get special abilities like bombs that you can give / use on other players.
