Before I re-installed, I could lock my computer by pressing Win-L, but now I have re-installed It just goes to switch users? does anyone know how I can get the Locking back? because If my brothers see a logon screen, they might use it, and restart, whereas with a lock they can see a message that says it is locked. and, come to think of it, can I have the option of locking and switching users?

I don''t know about locking AND switching users, but it sounds to me like your configuration in the User Accounts was changed when you reinstalled. Does your logon screen now look "different" i.e. if you were using the box dialog but you are now getting the "multi-user" fullscreen display?

Why reinstall anyhow, why not rollback to a previous System Restore??

IIRC, Even if one of your brothers logs in and tries to restart, they get a message stating that there is an account still active, and that they can''t shut down.

They still might be able to shut down, but then again, they might also just press the power button.

Anyway, you can''t have user switching -and- system locking. If you wish to use the old-fashioned style windows lock, go to the control panel, click "Change the way users log on or off" and uncheck "Use fast user-switching."
