Ok, my main motivation for learning assembly is because I want to fix some of my favorite game's which I used to play in dos which no longer run because of the classic runtime error 200 bug with programs made before the pentium 2 model's came out. The game was originally in operation from 1993 - 1997. Some people I know said I should try a program mo'slo.exe which will effectively slow down my computer enough so that I can run these programs. I'm on a 2.4 ghz P4 right now and mo'slo cant slow it down enough so I can play it so I wanna revamp it so I can play my favorite games in WIN98+ OS's. Since the source code and author are unavailable to fix it so I can play, I need to learn how to do it myself. Knowing myself i'm most likely in over my head but I am persistent. My logic was first figure out how the original game worked in order to translate it to what works now. I'd rather ressurect it then let it stay dead. It was a really fun game in its time. Do you actually have the assembly code for the game or are you hoping to edit the binary in assembly?

I just plugged the game.exe into W32DASM and it spit out some stuff.

The only problem i''m up against right now is figuring out what the IDT''s its using are and learning how it ticks so I can rewrite it so it''l run with newer machines. The runtime error isn''t based inside the program according to softice but in the ifshlp region. Annoys me.
