You cannot copy/paste blocks properly. Try going to any post where somebody has used , copy it to the clipboard, and paste it into notepad. The text will all end up one one line making any reasonable attempt to help somebody debug thier code virtually impossible. The reason for this is that you are seperating lines with
rather than just putting carriage returns / linefeeds in. This especially makes no sense since you are already in a [code] block. Please address this. I've pointed it out several times and always been ignored.

Copying and pasting works fine in Opera. I say we just blame the problem on Microsoft.
Chess is played by three people. Two people play the game; the third provides moral support for the pawns. The object of the game is to kill your opponent by flinging captured pieces at his head. Since the only piece that can be killed is a pawn, the two armies agree to meet in a pawn-infested area (or even a pawn shop) and kill as many pawns as possible in the crossfire. If the game goes on for an hour, one player may legally attempt to gouge out the other

I'll have to get back to this later, but I'll see what I can do. The reason we insert <BR> for carriage returns is so that people don't have to use HTML to format their posts in order to get paragraphs to show up separately. This is done globally, and the [ code ] processing is a simple replace; nothing special is done with the text in between the tags. Adding an additional layer of processing is going to be a mess, given the current state of the code.

I have noticed that too. Try clicking "quote" or "edit" and then copying from there.

And so, the evil religion thread stole the wonderful "What the Heck?" thread's throne. Truly a sad day for gamedev.

On a related note, the fact that [source] blocks get merged when you go back to edit your posts is ... annoying.

Yeah, I know. The source tags have been completely redone in the new forums, and they work much better.

Instead of making a special handler for the code tags, couldn''t you just add a newline after each BR tag?

I have no problem here, using IE 6.
