Would anyone be interested in setting up a Game Studio that does GBA games? The type of games I''m thinking of are platform games and possibly shooters. Nothing''s definate yet but if there''s a lot of interest I''ll start it up. By posting a reply to this message you''re only stating your interested. You aren''t saying that you agree to join the group.

Well, it depends. Are you looking to actually *sell* your games, or do you just want to make games for experience + fun?

If you want to make money, then I agree with Anonymous poster... I don''t think that the market for GBA games is terribly good right now. I mean, it''s just so full of stuff right now, and keep in mind that GBA owners not only have access to GBA games but GBC/GB too.. Then there are issues like getting licensed by Nintendo and.. ahh, it''s just not good.

But heck, if you just want experience and fun, go for it, GBA coding is fun to mess around with and there''s a pretty decent community of homebrew developers, plus some good libraries like SGADE.

It''s for fun and experience. The games would be free.

I recently got into GBA programming for a while, its surprisingly easy. That anonymous poster is a real jackass... its an easyer field than some (MMO), and if you have a solid team I could help out .

Nobody cares about the Gameboy anymore?
The GBA is still one of the better selling consoles, with the SP being sold out in numerous places.
It''s also really easy to program for.

The major problem, which doesn''t apply to TheBaker as he said, is selling the products since becoming a licensed Nintendo developer isn''t the easiest thing to do.

Good luck TheBaker.

agreed. this is exactly why sony is *killing* the competition. their licensing program is far superior to nintendo''s. honestly, nintendo says they want more 3rd party support, but they don''t actually offer 3rd parties anything good in comparison to sony or even microsoft. stupid, stupid nintendo...

as for the GBA''s popularity...it''s definately alive and kicking. GB/GBA has close to, if not the largest installed user base in the world, though i think psx may still beat it out. it''s really the only thing keeping nintendo afloat right now

I would like to join but wouldn''t i need to get a SDK for GBA.

You can download free ones. Try getting DevKitAdvance, you''ll find links on a site like gbadev.org, or gbajunkie.co.uk

Hi!

What do you think about www.freelancer-games.com ?

Is it a way to sell gba-games ?
Or is it the best way to get problems with nintendo ?
