I hate to ask this but, I coded some fairly basic game applets and uploaded them to my website, they worked fine. I have recently re-formatted and re-installed everything, my applets no longer work. I have re-installed all the same software: WinMe, JDK 1.4.1 and IE 6. If anyone can assist in why it may not be running, it would be much appriciated. Oh, the problem. IE says "class not found". Thanks.

Sounds like IE is still trying to run the 1.1 JVM. That is te hstandard error you will see if you are running 1.1 jvm and the applets were compiled in 1.4 or something

Unless you specify a codebase parameter, your class files must be in the same directory as the .html file that served the applet.

Also if you use packages, you have to put the fully qualified package name in the class parameter.

First make it work,
then make it fast.

Also, you have to use the HTML Converter (in java sdk dir\bin\) to use Java2 applets on a webpage. It''s part of the SDK, i know if you don''t it can cause some problmes. (It adds some extra code so the browser knows what version, and if you don''t have it, it will point the user to the Runtime so they can DL it).

Ooops, I don''t think I read your question right. :\, but give that a shot anyways. (Since you did say it was working before).

Hi Thanks for the responces.

It's a basic applet (no swing stuff) everything in the same folder.

This was the start of a blocks game, Be warned it's crude.

It worked before the format, but not now. It's situations like this that make me dislike using Java.
