When you don''t know what you''re doing with assembler, can you accidently ruin your system, like overwrite some file on the HD and such? I''m editing some assembly code of a 256 byte raytracer (lattice from www.256b.com) and get some cool effects like other colors and weird shapes by changing some random commands and values here and there. So is there any danger with this?

Nope.
If you''re very clever you might end up crashing your system, but to do any damage to the HD you need to be messing around with the interupts.
