Hi, I''m trying to find some good documents or tutorials on network programming. something simple, just opening a connection to a remote host and maybe sending/revieving some data. Nothing too complicated. i''ve tried searching google, but can''t find much, nothing for a beginner really. The protocol i''m mainly interested in is the TCP/IP protocol stack. if anyone knows any sites/documents/tutorials that you think would be good I would appreciate it if you could post them. Thanks. -deathtrap

Check out HawkNL

A simple protocol wrapper over the socket library.

You can also check out my project MUNE: Multi-User Network Engine which uses hawkNL and has all the source + documentation.

If you are interested in network programming with tcp/ip using sockets( using sockets you can connect computers to eachoter and send packets of data between them ), check out www.cpp-home.com, click on tutorials, choose categories from the sub-menu and then choose networking/internet, at the top of the list that appears is 40ish page tutorial named "Using Internet Sockets" by Beej. thats were i learned socket programming.
