if it is static generate lightmaps and apply them with multitexturing

I think multitexturing will do it but wont it get slow when you have 100 shadow textures for each building etc.?

Thanks

I''d also like to know this, as I''m trying to do bullet holes, but it seems silly to turn multitexturing (slow) on for such a small decal, but is there any other way?

thats why he asked static or not, bullet holes are not static and u would use decals, shadows are static or are mroe static for buildings

Right....
How do you use decals? Are they just multitexturing with a bullet hole texture? Or is there a better way. It seems silly to multitexture an entire wall for instance, to draw one tiny hole.

If that helps you, Quake 3 makes a new triangle or quad for every new bullet hole in front of the surface...

Cool. I''m glad that works actually, it seems like the simplest approach. But now I''m screwed if I am shooting at a car with a curved surface! hehe.
